Butterfly Innerforce ALC is an evolution of the legendary Butterfly Timo Boll ALC to the next level. Its control and dwell time are improved by restructuring the Arylate/Carbon layers to be closer to the center ply.
It will not only maximize heavy topspin strokes but also enhance its control. Butterfly Innerforce ALC is an ideal table tennis blade for the modern all-round topspin strategy.

Construction of the Blade
Let’s talk about the main features of Innerforce ALC. In appearance, some adjustments are being made. It is different from the standard surface of the Spirit series of blades.
Its face is more prominent. Butterfly’s official data states the blade’s size is 158*152mm, with a thickness of 5.9mm is thicker than the Spirit blades.
The structure adopts deep, buried carbon. The blade structure is Koto + Ayous + ALC + Ayous + ALC + Ayous + Koto.

More Information About Butterfly Innerforce ALC
The Butterfly Innerforce ALC is somewhat of an improvement of its predecessor Butterfly Timo Boll ALC and Timo Boll Spirit. Even though its popularity is still less than those two, it has gradually become more popular. Overall, Innerforce ALC’s characteristic is close to Timo Boll and Michael Maze series, known for excellent control.
Physically Butterfly Innerforce ALC comes with seven plies: two outer wood plies (Limba), Arylate Carbon, Ayous, Arylate Carbon, and inner core (Limba) respectively. The blade characteristic is close to Timo Boll ALC for stiffness, hardness (medium), and weight (90 g).
However, the Innerforce offers you a little softer touch due to the restructuring of ALC layers closer to the center core.
This paddle offers you quite a decent speed for an all-around to a mild offensive blade in terms of speed. It has slightly faster speed than Timo Boll Spirit and pretty much on par with Butterfly Michael Maze or Timo Boll ALC.
Nevertheless, it is still much slower than other upmarket super speed blades, such as Butterfly Schlager, Butterfly Jun Mitsutani, or Xiom Hayabusa. So if you are a big fan of monstrous speed, this blade will disappoint you since you need more effort to create a decent killer shot.
Regarding control, this paddle is quite phenomenal among Butterfly products or even the market. It offers you an impressive touch, control, and dwell time. Even though Timo Boll ALC is well known for its reasonable control, this paddle offers you even more.
It helps you to return the ball with very high precision and weight. It also helps you to block the ball with an almost effortless stroke. However, due to its relatively softer surface and less power than most aggressive blades, you may find it better for close to mid-distance play style.
I would say this is an upgraded version of Timo Boll ALC for the topspin loop in terms of spin support. You can generate an easier yet more powerful topspin loop due to the longer dwell time.
So if you are a loop fan, this will be an ideal paddle for you, especially in combination with super spin
Overall, this is an exceptional blade for control and spin ability. It is arguably an upgraded version of Timo Boll ALC and Timo Boll spirit with almost the same price (approx $130 โ 150). It is highly recommended for all-round(ALL+) to mild offensive players (OFF-) who prefer control over speed.

My Feeling
Because the surface and subsurface of this blade are built with pure wood, I feel that the blade’s power is too strong at the beginning. I feel the blade is so fast when I first tried it out.
A return force between the all-wood blade and composite blade gives me a different feeling. The feel is quite different, with most people think that the carbon blade should be more stable than the wooden blade.
After slowly getting to grasp the blade’s characteristics, I feel that the layering of the blade is relatively sufficient when I exerted the small and medium strength.
The part that uses pure wood can have reasonable control and feel when doing frick. After the carbon ply, it is different from the carbon blade!
The Ayous covering the carbon ply makes the carbon ply feel like a hard spring.
The blade can make a fast return of the ball. But because the carbon can effectively attenuate the ball’s strength and prolong the dwell time, it causes the ball to shot back right away but still stay in a steady position on the blade.
So, you can keep on playing power shot by exerting your strength, and you will not feel exhausted. It is different from the all-wood blade, which will keep the ball for a longer dwell time and then only shot back to the opponent site. This blade makes you more like an elastic release after extrusion, and the overall shape is moderate.
If you would love to buy this blade, you can buy from Megaspin.

Could you say, what is the difference between the new Innerforce alc and older Innerforce alc?
(layered, control, speed)
Old
Wood Ply:5 W/2A/C
Control:82
Speed:85
New
The blade has 7 plies:
– 2 outer layers of Limba
– 2 more layers of Limba
– 2 inner layers of Arylate Carbon
– Central layer of Ayous
Control:90
Speed:87
I’v heard the new blade layered is different. If I remember well then the outer plys are there KOTO and not LIMBA..
How does the Butterfly IF Layer ALC pair with the new Butterfly Rozena rubber ?
Hasn’t try before.
What is the difference between innerforce alc and innerforce layer alc? My city butterfly dealer has only the former. Need to know urgently. Thanks.
I thought they are the same.
