Harvil I Indoor Table Tennis Features

Size and Storage

The Harvil 1 is a regulation-sized table at 9 feet by 5 feet when fully assembled. When stored, it measures at approximately 5 feet by 2 feet, which makes it easy to store away. At 147 lbs or 67 kilos, it is one of the heavier indoor table tennis tables on the market, but the wheels make it easy to move around.

Build Quality

Generally speaking, the build quality of this Harvil ping pong table is good, though its thickness leaves one wanting. Of particular note are the following features.

Table Legs

The legs available in this table are slimmer than other higher price table models, which have larger legs. They can also be adjusted to protect your floor from scratches.

Foldable

The table is foldable, and even allows for individual play with its playback feature. This makes it suitable for practice sessions. Once folded, it takes up much less space and makes storage convenient

Caster Wheels

The table’s wheels have an easy locking mechanism that prevents the table from moving. With 8 locking wheels, 4 pairs on each side of the table, it is also relatively portable.

Assembly

At 147 pounds, the Harvil I is not the lightest table available. Still, it’s going to take a bit of effort for you to assemble it. While it can be done alone, this would be much faster if it were a two person job. It should take you about 30 minutes to an hour to assemble from start to finish.

You can refer to this video for guidance on how to assemble it:

Playing Surface

The playing surface is 16mm thick. This level of thickness will not give you a consistent bounce, but it is good enough for recreational play.

The MDF material itself is good. It sports a the aluminum-coated top surface that protects it from dents, especially when shifting the table. It also features a powder-coated steel frame that enhances its durability.

It’s clear that this table is best suited for recreational play, so if you want to enter tournaments, or even if you’re an intermediate player, you may want to look at other table tennis tables.

Equipment and Accessories

The Harvil I comes with with a net and 2 metal posts. These are easy enough to install. However, the net is somewhat cheap because of the clip style. When playing ping pong and the ball hits the net, it could move around. You will have to buy another net if that becomes a problem.

You’ll also have to buy table tennis paddles and balls separately. This is an additional cost, but well worth the investment if you are keen on playing table tennis. We have guides on how to buy a table tennis paddle.

Great for Casual Table Tennis Players

This Harvil ping pong table is one of the more convenient, affordable and portable options in the market. It is good for recreational play indoors, though more advanced players may want to choose other tables. It’s excellent for family fun!

At approximately $350, you can’t go wrong as far as value for money is concerned. If you just want a practice table, or recreational games, or friends and family sort of thing, then then the Harvil I indoor table tennis table is a good option.
